SENIOR WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIPS OF ENGLAND
2023 Competition Rules and Conditions
These Rules and Conditions are additional to the Rules on for Association Competitions
Format
- The competition is open to senior women amateur golfers. It comprises a singles stableford event and simultaneously, an aggregate pairs stableford event. Play is over 18 holes from the medal tees.
Entry and Draw
- Clubs may enter as many players as they wish. Alternatively, players who are members of affiliated clubs may enter directly. Duly completed entry forms, entry fees and green fees to be submitted as directed.
- In addition, two players entering from the same club may form a pair and enter the team event. Duly completed entry forms and entry fees to be submitted as directed.
- There shall be a maximum of 90 players (men and women) at the senior’s championship. Entries will be accepted on a first come basis.
Conditions of Play
- For the purpose of this competition the term senior refers to women who have reached the age of 50+ before 1 January of the current year.
- The maximum permitted handicap index is 44.0. Players with higher handicap indexes may play but they will be capped at this maximum limit. A player’s playing handicap shall be 95% of their course handicap.
Trophies and Prizes
- At the championship trophies and prizes shall be awarded in the following order of preference (a player may not win more than one individual prize and trophy).
- The player with the best gross stableford points shall be awarded the Seniors gross trophy.
- The player with the most nett stableford points will be awarded the Barbara Rainey Bowl.
- In addition, the team with the highest aggregate stableford points will be awarded the Reg Pugh Shield and team members will receive a memento.
- The player with the best gross score will represent the NAPGC in the EG English County Champion of Champions event.
- Other prizes at the national final will be awarded in relation to the number of entries received and at the discretion of the Competition Organiser.
